SUMMER-READY
TIPS TO GET YOUR LANDSCAPE SUMMER-READY
Spring has finally arrived in PNW! And after months of chilly temperatures, we are ready for the warm weather. Although all we simply want to do is soak up the sun as soon as it arrives, it’s really worth taking some time to get your garden in shape for the summer months.
Clean up your yard
Start off by doing some basic garden maintenance such as sweeping up leaves and litter and cleaning up your greenhouse. It’s surprising what a big difference these small tasks can make to freshen up your garden. If you have outdoor sofas and other items then you will have to make sure they are pristine for all of your summertime fun. It is recommended to take your cushions off any outdoor seating during winter, but if you forgot this year there are great ways to clean them with little hassle.
Take care of your lawn!
It’s likely been neglected over winter, so make sure you proceed with regular maintenance throughout the season—meaning weekly lawn mowing and routine watering. Weed control will likely be needed as well, along with fertilization.
Install seasonal plantings.
Certain plants are better off being installed in fall and left to grow over the dormant winter months, so that they can start blooming in spring and summer. In summer, gardens need bold, bright flowers that can withstand heat!
PATIO/DECK INSTALLATION
As the weather warms up consider installing decking. Aside from looking great, a decking area is the perfect space for outdoor living and relaxing during the summer months. Make your outdoor space an area where you want to relax. Consider investing in some outdoor furniture such as sofas and coffee tables and make your patio or decking an extension of your living room, perfect for summer evenings.
